Where We Work
In Canada and around the world, we give children a healthy start in life, the opportunity to learn and protection from harm. We do whatever it takes for children – every day and in times of crisis – transforming their lives and the future we share.
In 2017, we reached more than 49million children, and responded to 121 humanitarian emergencies in 61 countries.
Explore Our Programs Around the World
Indigenous children and youth are one of the fastest growing populations in Canada. They deserve a Canada where they can reclaim their identity, where their resilience is recognized and supported, and their culture celebrated. They have the right to develop to their full potential as valued and engaged citizens within their Indigenous nations and Canada.
Sub-Saharan Africa is the poorest region in the world, with nearly half of all child deaths under the age of five occur in this region. We helped more than 32 million African children in 2016.
Latin America and the Caribbean
We have worked in Latin America for more than 30 years, inspiring breakthroughs in the way children are treated and achieving immediate and lasting changes in their lives.
From Bangladesh to Afghanistan, we work to save lives every day, ensuring children are protected, healthy and able to learn. Along with our partners, Save the Children teams in Asia work towards long-term solutions based on expanding access to health care, education – enabling equal access for girls – and sustainable livelihood development.
The Middle East
Affected by conflict, political instability and social unrest, the Middle East is one of the most difficult places to be a child. We work in some of the most complex environments to protect and support children in the Middle East. We deliver programs that improve healthcare services, provide access to education and protect children’s rights – even in times of emergency.
