Spin Master employees send uplifting messages to children in crisis

From May 17th-21st, 2021, employees from Spin Master, a leading children’s entertainment company, celebrated their inaugural Employee Engagement Week. One of the activities staff took part in was creating a digital mural filled with  uplifting messages for children living in crisis around the world.

“It is inspiring reading some of the messages on the mural because you get a sense of how meaningful this is to my colleagues. It is an incredible opportunity to be able to reach out to children who are faced with conflict or war, and try to bring some joy through our words” said Ethan Cohen of Spin Master.

The pandemic has limited face-to-face interactions and the digital board of messages is the perfect way to speak to a child living in some of the worst circumstance. Ethan continues to say, “Words are powerful, and so delivering messages of hope and positivity through an engaging mural was a fun idea our team had come up with. We are excited to see the reactions of children when they have the chance to read our messages.”

Since 2017, Spin Master and Save the Children have collaborated on several initiatives to inspire change and create hope for children in the most vulnerable circumstances.

Through toy distribution in places like Iraq, and Kenya, Spin Master helps to promote imagination and play for thousands of girls and boys.  The partnership also addresses a critical gap in services for children affected by crisis through providing ‘Child Friendly Spaces’ that allow children to learn, play and recover from trauma they have experienced.

More recently, in response to COVID-19, Spin Master donated toys and face shields (made in their own toy factories from materials from their toy production) to Save the Children’s Indigenous community partners located in Ontario and Manitoba. They have also supported the “Kids Hub” program, launched during the pandemic to provide engaging content for kids during the lock down.
