Your Impact
Beauty*, 17, lives with her sister and parents in Lusaka, Zambia. The water and sanitation facilities in their area are very poor, resulting in a high risk of water-borne diseases. When Lusaka was recently experiencing its worst cholera outbreak in 20 years, all schools remained closed and Beauty’s parents couldn’t work. Save the Children provided Beauty’s and many schools with chlorine, handwashing sets, soap, hand sanitizers, waste bins, and disinfectants to help keep students safe and schools open during cholera outbreaks.
