John Hillman

John Hillman is a 104-year-old World War II veteran and proud fundraiser for Save the Children. For the past three years, John has raised funds by walking laps around his BC retirement home courtyard, the number of laps matching his age! To date, he has raised an astounding $333,000 for children in crisis.

This year, John will walk from May 1-12, ten laps per day plus a few extra to reach 104 laps! His fundraising goal is $104,000 for Save the Children’s emergency fund to help children in crisis.

John shares: “At 104 years of age, I am glad to say I am still around, fit, and enthusiastic. I’m looking forward to my 104 trips around the Carlton House residence courtyard! Many thanks to those of you who supported the children in 2020, 2021, and 2022. I encourage you to continue your good work again in 2023”.

Your message of encouragement will be shared directly with John starting on May 1 and posted across our social media channels. We want to raise as much awareness as possible about this incredible initiative!

Save the Children would like to thank Carlton House of Oak Bay in BC for kindly organizing John’s fundraiser each year!
