Toronto, 24 July 2026 – Save the Children, the leading independent children’s rights organization, is pleased to announce the appointment of Grant Rasmussen and Amy Syed to its Board of Directors. Together, they bring extensive leadership experience spanning finance, technology and corporate governance, strengthening the organization’s ability to advance its vision for children in Canada and around the world.

Grant Rasmussen brings more than 40 years of executive leadership experience, having served as CEO of three companies and held senior leadership roles with American Express, RBC, UBS, CIBC and Home Equity Bank. He has extensive expertise in financial services, corporate strategy and governance, along with a long history of supporting charitable organizations through board service and philanthropy.
Amy Syed is a Partner at KPMG Canada in the Data Engineering and Applied AI practice, where she serves as National Google Leader. She is a recognized technology executive with deep expertise in cloud, artificial intelligence and enterprise transformation, bringing valuable experience leading large-scale innovation and strategic partnerships.
Together, Grant and Amy add complementary expertise to Save the Children’s Board of Directors, helping guide the organization’s strategic priorities to defend the rights of children in a world where those rights are constantly under threat. Their leadership will support Save the Children’s work with children, supporters and partners across Canada to create lasting change—now and for the future.
