Primary Job Purpose This position plays a lead role in executing the strategy to grow and acquire new high quality monthly donors and new single gift donations. The Manager, Direct Marketing works with the Senior Manager, Direct Marketing, to operationalize, manage, and analyze the effectiveness of all donor acquisition programs and marketing initiatives to achieve revenue targets. Responsibilities
Strategy Planning, Program Management and Implementation:
    • Work collaboratively with the Senior Manager, Direct Marketing, to develop strategic plans to reach growth targets in monthly donor and single gift acquisition revenue
    • Manage all acquisition programs and operations across all channels: door-to-door, street fundraising, DRTV, digital (social media/website/email), and direct mail
    • Lead all acquisition projects from end-to-end, including business case development, strategic development, project planning, operational design, testing, implementation and reporting
    • Identify process improvements to enhance acquisition program operations and efficiencies
    • Proactively recommend new opportunities to test and enhance acquisition programs offices.
Vendor / Stakeholder Management: External acquisition vendors
  • Be the project lead to develop new vendor/agency contracts and work closely with stakeholders to gain alignment and approval
  • Manage vendors to the responsibilities and metrics of success outlined in the contract and statement of work
  • Lead the on-boarding process and training for all new vendors
  • Lead weekly vendor status calls and quarterly vendor review meetings to review ongoing program performance, close potential gaps, and identify growth opportunities
  • Identify opportunities to improve cost efficiency and quality of vendor services
  • Perform annual audits / review of vendors
Internal Stakeholders and Partners
  • Work closely with all internal stakeholders (Donor Services/Communications/Finance teams) to ensure alignment, gain input, and streamline processes to optimize acquisition programs
Budget and Investment Management
  • Manage the acquisition budget, including the annual planning process, and monitor investment performance for every channel and program
  • Identify opportunities to optimize investment and recommend budget allocations to maximize performance across the acquisition portfolio

  • Plan, execute, and measure all acquisition programs based on ROI and defined KPIs
  • Provide regular updates regarding acquisition program performance details, insights and recommendations
Qualifications and Experience
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in direct response marketing, preferably donor acquisition
  • Non-profit related work experience preferred
  • Experience in Face to Face and DRTV program management an asset
  • Knowledge and/or experience with child rights programming in areas of Health, Education, Child Protection, and Livelihoods an asset
  • Written and oral French proficiency is an asset
