Primary Job Purpose As an integral part of the fundraising team, the Bilingual Donor Relations Associate will support the cultivation and stewardship of the relationships between Save the Children Canada and its donors at all levels, by providing extraordinary service to donors and exceeding expectations in the areas of processing of donations, communicating with and maintaining donor information. Accountabilities Donation Processing:
  • Review and process donations, receipts and acknowledgements daily including but not limited to; individual, wire transfers, tribute, corporate, third party event gifts and pledges, gift catalogue donations, and employer matching contributions.
    • Collect, batch and prepare donations
    • Process donations
    • Update donor information in Raiser’s Edge as required
    • Reconciles financial information
  • Run queries and reports to record and support payment processing
Donor Data Entry and Management
  • Obtaining missing information from donors, as required using various methods of communication. This includes processing returned mail, unsubscribe lists and making attempts to obtain accurate addresses.
  • Design and execute data integrity projects including returned mail, address updates, merge and inactivation processes
  • Add gift information and donor correspondence to central files as needed
Donor Support and Stewardship
  • Respond to donor inquiries (by email and phone) with a view to providing best in class customer service and increasing donor retention rates as well as cross-selling where appropriate.
  • Issue duplicate tax receipts and process cancellations as required
  • Pro-actively problem-solve donor concerns with the willingness to meet both donor needs and Save the Children business requirements.
  • Impact Donor retention by ensuring donors are offered alternatives to cancellation and identify opportunities for Donor retention.
  • Support processing of donations from third party and events
  • Acknowledge donations and pledges by outbound calls, written correspondence or other means as required
  • Maintains donor confidentiality and ensures compliance with related policies
Donor Acquisition Support
  • Input new leads
Process Management:
  • Follow all Save the Children Canada Business Rules including policies and procedures such as, but not limited to: Donation processing; Call Management; Records Retention; Tax Receipts; etc.
  • Participate in development of best practices and documentation and training of staff in maintaining accurate database records
Other
  • Answer basic inquiries from the public
  • Possess thorough and current knowledge of Save the Children and articulate information to the public
Qualifications and Experience
  • High School Diploma. College diploma preferred
  • Call centre experience an asset
  • Strong people skills, as well as customer service and data entry experience
  • Proficiency in or ability to learn and use Donor Management software (including, but not limited to Raiser’s Edge and Agresso)
  • Knowledge of Canada Revenue Agency donation guidelines
  • Not for profit experience an asset
