In Canada, we’re working with our partners to understand the pandemic’s impact on Indigenous communities and their unique needs. Around the world, we are focusing on preparedness activities to reduce the spread of the virus and supporting children and families who may be separated due to quarantine.

As the Coronavirus continues to spread across international boarders, children in Canada and around the world are facing growing risks. Save the Children is working around the clock to keep children healthy, safe and protected. The risks to the psychological impact this pandemic can have on children grows daily. Children living in quarantine or possibly being separated from their families are especially vulnerable. While school closings can also cause disruption to children’s education.

We are focusing our response on global preparedness activities to reduce the spread of the virus. We are training health teams worldwide how to protect themselves and prevent further spread of the disease. We are also supplying protective equipment and other supplies front-line health workers desperately need. In addition, we are protecting children and families who may be separated due to quarantine. In Canada, we’re working with our partners to understand the pandemic’s impact on the Indigenous communities.
