Global Sustainable Development Goals

In September 2015, world leaders gathered at the United Nations and officially adopted 17 new Sustainable Development Goals to transform the world by 2030! We can be the first generation to end extreme poverty and the last generation to be threatened by climate change. We must all come together and work towards achieving these goals – our team at Save the Children, other international aid agencies, government, partners, children and youth – you!

The Global Goals aim to build a world where no child knows hunger or dies from preventable causes. A world where child rights are respected and protected and girls have the same opportunities to thrive as boys. Download a youth-friendly booklet that explains global goals.

Save the Children global programs are geared towards accomplishing many of the Global Goals.

In addition to Save the Children’s work both internationally and domestically, Save the Children runs specific programs that take place in multiple countries. Our Children Lead the Way program focuses on working children in five countries in Latin America and Africa, helping them find empowerment, learn their rights and have access to educational opportunities. Our Youth in Action program, run in partnership with The MasterCard Foundation, works to create sustainable livelihoods in the agriculture sector for rural youth in five countries in Africa. Learn more about Youth in Action
