Did you know that there is a growing education crisis in Ethiopia?
Due to factors such as conflicts in neighbouring countries – which have created a refugee crisis in Ethiopia – and drought, it is estimated that 3.5 million children in Ethiopia don’t have access to education.
This is a staggering number and only time will tell what the ultimate cost is to this generation and the world.
In the past, Ethiopia has produced generations of scholars and inventors who have made a worldwide impact. But if the current education crisis continues, the next class of Ethiopian innovators won’t get a chance to show the world their talents and abilities.
The class of tomorrow deserves a chance to change the world.
The Brighter Outcomes Ethiopia project – funded by Global Affairs Canada and implemented in partnership with local organizations – promotes equitable and inclusive education for children who are refugees, internally displaced peoples (IDP), or living in host communities in the Oromia and Somali regions of Ethiopia, with a focus on girls and children with disabilities.
