Save the Children works in over 120 countries around the world to deliver programs and advocate and campaign for better practices and policies to fulfill children's rights. We ensure that children's voices are heard, particularly those of children most marginalized or living in poverty. To achieve these goals, we collaborate with children, civil society organizations, communities, governments and the private sector to share knowledge, influence others and build capacity to ensure that children's rights are met.
To make an immediate and lasting impact on the lives of children, we focus on the following:
We give priority to children without appropriate care, children in emergencies and working children to prevent and respond to abuse, neglect, exploitation and violence against children.
We help provide basic education in conflict areas, fragile states and the poorest countries as well as early childhood development projects in Canada.
| |
We provide emergency response and relief in times of crisis when children are the most vulnerable.
We work to improve the health and nutrition of children worldwide with a special focus on maternal, infant and child health.
| |
We work to prevent HIV and AIDS and support children affected who do not have adequate care.
We help families grow their income, property and household resources when their situation is stable and offer assistance when shocks or emergencies, threaten to devastate families.
| |
We monitor adherence to the UN Convention of the Rights of the Child (CRC) and work to strengthen national systems and raise awareness of the fundamental rights of children.
