Asia is the largest continent in the world. The wealth of people living within Asian countries varies widely, and there are widening gaps between rich and poor people. Constant high population growth has left many nations struggling with chronic poverty, inadequate health care, a largely under-employed workforce, and rapid degradation of environmentally sensitive areas.
Save the Children has worked in Asia for more than 30 years; helping children in Afghanistan access primary education, reducing the number of young children dying from preventable diseases and responding to natural disasters in Myanmar, and providing children with protection, healthcare, an education and most recently aid during the floods that ravaged Pakistan.
